This is just a quick post as a way of recording the fact that I went for a walk again today. That's at least four, and possibly five, days in a row. I think that might be some kind of a record. The last time I remember walking regularly was when we lived down in Conder. That was nearly ten years ago.
Another thing that popped into my head last night was that back in February when I first started going for the occasional walk, it was all I could do to walk 4 blocks. I would get that far, then sit on a park bench and rest for a while, then start slogging back home. By the time I made it back, I'd be huffing and wheezing, my back would be killing me, my legs would be shaking, and more often than not, I'd collapse in my chair and grab a couple pain-killers and a glass of whiskey to ease the pain, both physical and emotional.
Eight months later and walking is a pleasure.
