Okay, I'm back! Not dead, but I've been out of action for a while. I had an infected cyst on the back on my neck, and ended up having to have a little surgery to deal with it. I won't got into detail, but the gist of it is that there was a lot of pain, and a lot of grossness, involved and I'm glad that it's (almost) over. I'll go see my doctor again in a couple of weeks to talk to him about a more permanent solution (which will probably mean more extensive surgery to actually remove the thing).
Anyway, apart from the pain and the grossness, the important thing is that in my state of abject misery, I not only didn't exercise at all (at the worst stages I could barely move), but I also ate anything and everything that I could get my hands on. I'm talking comfort food (it turns out that Karen's main function as a nurse consists of a lot of BAKING). I'm talking junk food, as in mass quantities of cheeseburgers, fried chicken, and in my darkest moments of despair I even resorted to Domino's pizza. I'm talking midnight snacks that lasted until 4 in the morning. I was BAD!
And even when I was better and could've gone to meeting on Saturday, I didn't go and kept on eating. And I didn't post anything in this blog even when I could have.
But I'm back now. I went to meeting this morning so that I could find out the damage and face up to it. It was bad, but not as bad as I'd thought it might be. Two-and-a-half kilos. Five-and-a-half pounds. In less than a month. So I'm back where I was at the end of July. That sucks. That sucks a lot!
But hey, shit happens. And now I'm back on the wagon, focused, and determined to get those kilos back off as fast as I can.
Todays weight: 155.4 kg (342.6 lbs)
Change: +2.5 kg (5.5 lbs)
Total loss: -40.1 kg (88.4 lbs)
This week I'm easing back into things. Less snacking. Recording my points. No more fast food. Walking. The usual sort of stuff. But I'm thinking that next week I'll go for something a bit more intense because I really want to get those kilos back off and get to my next goal.
I know that goes against my slow-and-steady philosophy, but then so does EATING A BUCKET OF FRIED FUCKING CHICKEN! So I'm looking at some options, and I'll post about the plan as it develops.
