Simple Cooking Cookbooks

Today's post on the FiveBooks blog was about simple cooking. While I'm sure that Michelin-starred chef Bruno Loubet and I have very different ideas about the simple part, I'm definitely interested in checking out a couple of the books he recommends.

The River Cottage Cookbook by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall - I watched a couple of the River Cottage series back before we gave up our Foxtel (Satellite TV) and thoroughly enjoyed them.

and

The Cook's Companion: the complete book of ingredients and recipes for the Australian kitchen - I like Stephanie Alexander. Most people don't know that before she was a famous and successful restaurateur, she was a librarian. Maybe that's why this book is more of a reference book than a cookbook. She's also written one called the Kitchen Garden Companion.
