There's an APP for That!

It's been another morning of fun with the Wii, although according to it, I'm getting worse, not better. Each day I start with its Body Test, which measures my weight, calculates my BMI, and runs me through a few balance and coordination tasks, and uses all that to determine my Wii Fit Age. And according to the computer, in the last two days, I've put on over a kilo and my BMI has increased, along with my Wii Fit Age.

It has gently informed me that my body weight can fluctuate on a day-to-day basis by up to a kilo, but I think the weight gain is more likely due to my clothes. Even though it gives me some options to allow me to adjust for the weight of my clothing, I think I'm probably underestimating. I since I can't use the Balance Board to weigh my clothes, I should probably use the bathroom scales to see if I can get a more accurate reading.

But honestly, I'm not too worried about it. The only number I pay much attention to is the one I get when I go to meeting. And even with that, as long as the general trend is down, I'm going to be pretty happy, regardless of any particular number I might get.

So far today I've done 40 minutes of Wii Fit (including more yoga, which kinda surprised me), plus 15 minutes with weights. I'm a bit sore, and I'm moving a bit slow and careful, but I'm still functional, and I'm really hoping I can get a good walk in this afternoon, and then another one after dinner.

I'm trying to be a little more accurate with tracking my exercise, so I'm counting the Wii Fit aerobic exercises (jogging, stepping, hula hooping, and boxing) as moderate-intensity workouts, and the rest of it (balance, muscle, and yoga) as light-intensity. I'm also tracking the weight stuff as light-intensity. Doing that gives me 3 Activity ProPoints (APPs) for 20 minutes of Wii Fit aerobics, 2 APPs for 20 minutes of Wii Fit balance/muscle/yogo, and 2 APPs for 15 minutes of weights.

Which means that as of now (1 pm) I've got a deficit of 6 PPs, because I ended up skipping breakfast (I kept waiting to feel hungry, and it didn't happen until nearly lunch-time), and I had my zero-point Mexican Veggie Soup for lunch, so my food total is currently 1 ProPoint because I had a cup of coffee this morning.

Oh, and I think I'm on track to complete my Mission of the Day. In between exercise, Tom, housework and blogging, I've squeezed in 15 minutes of reading.
