Today I climbed back on that bastard of a cross-trainer. Until I can scrounge up the money for an extra hernia belt, I figured that with a little repair work and a lot of luck, I'd try using the old one for working out, and the new one for everything else. So I put in 35 minutes today. But not all in one session. The plan, for now at least, is to just get on the damned thing whenever I've got a bit of free time and a little motivation, and do 10 minutes or so.
That worked pretty well today. I did a fairly easy 10 minute session. Then later I did 15 minutes, ending easy but starting out trying to get a fast 3 km. I did it in 8:55, a new record. And I've just finished up another 10 minutes, at a fairly average intensity up until the last minute or so when I really pushed it so that I could hit 3k. That's the first time I've ever hit over 23km/hr.
I'm going to try this for a while and see how it works out. I'd like to get back into the habit of going for a walk, too. But if I do, I'm going to need to get up early, because it's topping out at over 38C/100F in the afternoons, and I ain't interested in walking around in a furnace.
