Weigh-in: 23 October, 2010

Todays weight: 155.5 kg (342.8 lbs)

Change: +0.7 kg (1.5 lbs)

Total loss: -40.0 kg (88.2 lbs)

After skipping a month's worth of meetings, eating whatever and not bothering to record it, etc. I hauled my ass into meeting today and got on the scales to learn that I've gained a pound and a half. That I've gained weight isn't at all surprising. That it was a reasonably small amount definitely was a surprise. I was preparing myself for a two kilo (4.4 lb) increase, or possibly even more

So on the one hand, I can look at that and say that by essentially eating whatever I want for a month, it could've been worse, and it's clear that "whatever I want" isn't as unhealthy now as it was in the past. On the other hand, even if I could maintain that indefinitely, 1.5 pounds in a month is 18 pounds a year. That's how guys who weigh 180 lbs when they're 30 wonder how the hell they ended up at 360 lbs when they're 40.

So fuck that. I've got to get my shit to the point where I eat whatever I want and I don't gain weight. But before that, I've got to lose a bunch of weight (a lot more than I've lost so far), so from today I am back on track and getting serious again.

I've lost 40 kilos (88.2 lbs) since February of this year. That's great. But in August, I weighed less than I do now. Steady loss from February to August, and since then, I've been slowly trending upward through September and October. So fuck that. I'll hit my mini-goal of 144.5 kilo (318.5 lbs) before the end of November.

If I'd continued my initial rate of weight loss (from the beginning of Feb through to the end of April), I would've hit that goal by the end of July. If I'd maintained my later rate (from early May through to late August), I would've hit it around my birthday. So I'm a bit behind. But I'm going to start catching up. Right now.
