After reading the comments for the recipe, my guess is that I added the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients while it was still too hot, and it killed a lot of the yeast, so the dough didn't rise enough. Well, Betty freakin' Crocker I ain't, but if I can get to the store in time (to buy more flour), I might give these another try tonight. But I'll buy some regular hamburger buns, just in case.

Burger Bun Bummer
I'm not sure exactly what went wrong -- me, the recipe, an unexpected bombardment of cosmic rays -- but something seriously fucked up with my homemade hamburger buns.
I had a sneaking suspicion that these weren't going well since I mixed up the dough. Just didn't feel right. And it wasn't. Not even close. I just had a bite of one with some butter and jam, and I can tell ya, I've paid good money for worse "biscuits". I guess it's just too bad that I was trying to make hamburger buns, not biscuits.
