I had planned to take it easy today, to recover from our little microvacation, but then decided, what the he'll, I could at least do a few minutes on the cross-trainer. My original plan was to do 10 minutes, then at some point I decided to try to beat my 3k record, and do it in ten minutes. I ended up doing it in 9:48, and I kept going. Every time I'd finish a minute, I'd decide to do another one, and at around the 18 minute mark, I realized that I had done another 3k, and decided to try to see how fast I could hit that milestone. I made it at 20:38 (so that 3k took me 10:20), and I kept going. I figured I'd try to finish the 30-minute program. I wasn't worrying about speed, but just trying to finish, while keeping my heart rate in my zone. I made it to the half-hour finish, but decided I was close enough to another 3k that I'd go a little longer. So in the end, I did 9k in a little over 30 minutes (9:48, 10:50, and 12:40), then kept going until the 33 minute mark before I called it quits.
Ten days ago I thought I was going to die after spending 10 minutes on the thing. Six days ago I made it for 30 minutes, but only went 7 km. Today I did 9 km in that same 30 minutes, then kept going for another 3 minutes. That's fucking excellent.
