I just realized that I didn't publish this last night, so I'm doing it now.
So the soup was very tasty, but again today I had a little niggling urge for some extra protein and fat, so I cooked up a couple of the sausages left over from last Sunday's "bangers and mash". That hit the spot, and I was good until dinner, which involved a double-meat cheeseburger as a little something extra, washed down with an ice cold Coopers Ale (didn't go with the low-carb version this week).
Then I had to hold off on my after-dinner walk for a little while so my iPod could charge, so I opened another beer and sat out on the back patio, read a book and gnawed on a piece of jerky for a while. I watched a couple of kangaroos hop past my back gate, which is the first time I've seen that happen.I mean, I've seen plenty of roos, including more than a few here in suburbia, but not hanging out in the little nature strip or green belt or whatever the hell you call the little strip of grass and trees behind our row of townhouses.
Anyway, it turned out to be so relaxing and enjoyable that I nearly didn't get up off my ass and go for the walk, but I finally convinced myself not to be a lazy indulgent asshole and to get up and get moving. That 50-minute walk, plus the half hour I spent doing the Wii Fit stuff (an entire half hour of just strength training and yoga, just to mix things up a bit) makes for a reasonably active day, I think.
