Being the awesome, supportive husband that I am (no, you don't need to ask my wife; just take my word for it), I set my alarm for 5:30 (yeah, AM) to help motivate Karen into getting up early. Her plan is to get up at 5:30 and do a session on the cross-trainer before work every morning. But so far the implementation of the plan has involved a lot of hitting the snooze button and not much action on the cross-trainer. So I told her yesterday that I would get up at 5:30, too. And then promptly forgot about it. Until midnight last night.
So I've had 5 hours sleep, and after being suitably
annoying motivating, I was told that she can't workout this morning because she has to wash her hair, and she doesn't have time. Apparently this is one of the mysteries of being a woman. It turns out that on hair-washing days, she'd have to get up at 5:00 to get it all done and make it to work on time. I really don't want to get up at 5, so I'm gonna try to convince her to just go with a short workout on hair-washing days. Because, you know, even just ten minutes is better than none at all. Amiright?
On the positive side (I guess), I've had breakfast (2 scrambled eggs, the rest of the lentil mix, and a bit of homemade salsa (yum!) to give it a bit of zing. Breakfast o' fucking
champions, mate!) and put in 15 minutes on that bastard of a cross-trainer. I just tried to keep a fairly steady pace, and did 3k in 10 minutes, and 4.5 km in 15 mins, so I'm happy with that. RunKeeper says I burned 697 cals, CalorieKing says it was 258 cals. I figure I'll go with 300 cals burned, and 420 eaten. That seems fairly reasonable.
